Stolen Innocence connects to the theme of this art call by embracing a darker tone for how women have been viewed through years of fighting for equality, equity, and for fundamental human rights. Even with the acts of power that have created an uneasy, unsafe environment, and danger lurking close behind she sits courageously expressing her right for fertility and life. This photo expresses the empathetic views that I have felt hearing of people's stories of trauma, feeling the tension in the country as federal and state laws have a say on bodily autonomy, and just the understanding that there is so much work that needs to be done to create real change. We use our voices to shape ourselves, those around us, and hopefully those in power to create safeguards for people of all genders, especially children. I could genuinely dive into this more, but I could probably end of with a story book explaining this piece (well at least an essay).
