Oil Painting

My great grandmother, Jane Washington, was an oil painter. Though I never met her, her painting of Currituck Beach Lighthouse was hung in my bedroom my whole childhood. This painting, is in honor of the woman I never met, who's artistic ability skipped two generations, but love for art persevered. This painting re-imagines the Currituck Beach Lighthouse and comments in part on the beauty of life, death, and the things that make us who we are.
