Description

Treeptych Squared is a nine panel drawing made with fine liners and graphite on paper. The work comes from my close observation of tree bark, focusing on its lines, cracks and changing textures. I draw these details by hand, building up the surface slowly until the individual sections become an abstract landscape. I coined the term ’Treeptych’ by merging the traditional three panel format of a triptych with the tree, which is the subject of the work.
