These portraits, completed using a modern take on the Flemish method, plainly expose the underbelly of our social masks: the colorful charisma, the gregariousness, in the uniquely human effort to seek connection, intimacy, and authenticity. A passing spark devoid of an inviting smile; an old friend without their reassuring gaze. To bore passed the mask is to confront the possibility that we are the very skeletons in our proverbial closets.
