Description

I am an abstract expressionist that creates in a meditative state, to evoke the experience within the viewer. I layer color and texture using all of the colors of the rainbow to celebrate my LGBTQ+ community. The purpose of my work is to establish psychological and emotional connection inherent in the empathy and compassion of universal humanity. My work is evidence of connected mind and heart, acting as an interface to connect with the minds and hearts of others. My hope is that experiencing my art contributes to universal love and acceptance of the queer community. Encaustic is a very new exploration for me, as I typically work with oil paint. I have been learning encaustic with Emma Ashby, and have discovered I can be brave with the wax in a way that is authentic to who I am as an artist and individual.
