Description

This is a mixed media piece. The base is a piece of repurposed slate. Layered on top of this is pastel and gold leaf. The final image is created using a unique pigment transfer technique using a pinhole photograph I took. Winter light is scarce, almost sacred when the nights are long and the days are short. When it shines, it glimmers. This highlights the search for light in the darkness and celebrates the moments when it breaks over the horizon.
