I created this piece while I was isolated from my family during the pandemic. I painted passionflowers for my mother (she used to pot them and bring them to me), blueberries for my daughter and hid symbols that were meaningful to us like a Great Blue Heron (our symbol for luck). I used a maximalist style deliberately to represent how overwhelmed I was feeling at the time.
