Description
‘THE MOON KING’ is the epic tale of Dermitt McDougal, a construction worker who is plagued by bad luck. After suffering from a tragic accident, Dermitt must deal with a pantheon of strange gods in order to return to his normal life.
This piece is an abstract-surreal, interprative, mixed media self-portrait. I employ a wide bredth of story telling elements to show my audiance who I am. In a way, this is the most vulenrable I have ever been. On topic, one aspect of this is that I am a conservationist at heart. Having built a carreer of wildlife habitat conservation, I try to fit aspects of sustainability into all things that I do. I enjoy finding creative ways to divert matterials from landfill- nearly all the props and costumes used in ‘THE MOON KING’ are created using 2nd handed fabric, contents of the recycling bins around my neighborhood, and old childhood toys. I hope that you enjoy the parable of Dermitt McDougal and find it as meaningful as I do.
