As winter recedes and spring slowly emerges, I have to remind myself that everything is temporary. The gloom will not last; every season is a growing season. Be patient and kind to yourself as you recharge for your next transformation.

Artist Statement:
For me, painting is a portal into a new place where you become a little different. You see differently, feel differently.
“It’s alright, I’m ok” is a reflection of the inner turmoil and conversations I have with myself on a daily basis. Growing up in an unstable household, I had to entertain myself and learn life’s lessons alone. I grew up believing my feelings weren’t valid… that nobody cared or even noticed me, so I kept to myself a lot. As an adult, I’ve discovered I’m unable to accurately and honestly talk about my feelings without breaking down, getting defensive, or going silent. Painting through the discomfort and shame is helping me bridge the communication gap and bring light to mental health awareness.
