Description
Acrylic on canvas.
Growing up on the South Shore of Massachusetts, I spent time at its many beaches searching for treasures from the sea. Among the treasures I collected were shells, the wonderful lines and texture of these shells intrigued me. My love of line drawing combined with my interest in the shells I created many studies, drawing upon drawing of shells. Oyster shells are particularly interesting with their rough texture outside and their smooth interior, the interesting colors add to the interest. In this piece it is the lines on the shells that caught my interest, I found myself creating patterns within my studies, that is what inspired this piece.
