This piece explores the hard labor involved with food production and the disconnect we can feel from our food producers and the land that provides for us. A work glove that is completely worn through is the central focus, surrounded by other found materials that required many hours of hand work to create, such as crocheting and embroidery, as well as pieces of grocery store receipts that contrast where we get our food versus where that food actually comes from.

Artist Statement:
As an artist, I am passionate about exploring the connection between our pasts and futures, where we’ve been and where we are going. I enjoy experimenting with different materials and techniques, including painting, collage, and fiber arts, and using items from everyday life, repurposing them and bestowing new meaning.
