Medium: Acrylic with Recycled Materials, Tape, and Paper
Artist Statement:
Justice McDaniel (Justice Eats Trees) is a Boston-based artist, musician, designer, and excitable puppy of a person. He works in mixed media, incorporating elements of primitivism, surrealism, cartoon, and expressionism into paintings, drawings, 3D-printed works, proto-sculptures, and other cobbled together nonsense he insists upon making. In less than 35 human years, he has created well over 500 songs both in his family band King Imp and as a solo musical artist, many of which were part of his daily song project Groove of the Day. He now spends a lot of time painting and taking photos that look like fever dreams in the woods. Justice loves cats, manages a coworking space, has several science degrees, and once drank a gallon of Tampico in a day.
