The palette I used for this piece pushed me to create depth without using black or white for the highlights and shadows in the flower petals. Instead I used black and white in the background to create a large contrast between itself and the flowers. This contrast allows the flowers to jump off the canvas, making it seem like they are reaching out to you, waiting for you to just grab one and dive in.

My name is Kit and I am a Manchester based artist. I love to paint and will paint anything I can get my hands on — walls, wood, canvas, you name it! My favorite medium to use is acrylic because of the bright, bold colors and sharp contrast you can create with it. My art is an outlet that grants me the space to feel and paint freely, without hesitation, letting it flow, never knowing where it will take me.
